Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What qualifications do you have for being an officiate?

A:  Rev. Bob Myers has been an ordained ministered since 1967 and is licensed to perform weddings in Florida. He is a graduate of two NC colleges and holds a Master’s of Arts degree from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Ft. Worth, Texas. Rev. Myers has over thirty years experience in the Pastoral Ministry having served churches in NC, VA, TX, and FL. Having been a resident of Central Florida since 1979, he has developed many friendships with wedding professionals. During the past ten years, he has officiated over 2,500 weddings at 150 locations.

Q: How do we secure your services?

A: You can contact Rev. Myers through e-mail or by telephoning his office at 407/370-2068. After gathering the contact information and details about the ceremony plans, Rev. Myers will send each couple resource planning documents and a Contract. A consultation appointment is scheduled. Each couple will be invited to his home to get acquainted and develop a ceremony plan. A deposit is required to secure the date on his calendar.

Q: What types of ceremonies do you perform?

A:  We will customize your wedding ceremony to be exactly what you want it to be. The most popular type of ceremony is the Christian/non-denominational. Other types of ceremonies would include interfaith, civil, blended-family, and vow renewals.

Q: How long is your ceremony?

A: Most ceremonies are between 15-30 minutes. The variables would include the number of persons in the bridal party, music, readings. My speaking part of the ceremony averages between 15-20 minutes.

Q: What is your fee?

A: The fee is based upon many variables such as location, date, time, and whether a rehearsal is planned. Unlike most other wedding vendors, most couples want their minister/officiate to be involved. If you e-mail or telephone with the details information, we will be able to give you the fee amount.

Q: We are not affiliated with a church in the area but want to be married in a church. How can you help us?

A: Many churches only rent their facilities to members. Since Rev. Myers does not have his own church/chapel, he can be helpful in recommending a church which does rent to non-members.

Q: What other services do you provide?

A: As an active and ordained minister, I am equipped and experienced to provide these additional services: premarital counseling, vow renewals, Anniversary celebrations, Baby dedications, special speaking engagements.

Q: Do you require premarital counseling?

A: While it is not required, I do encourage each couple to consider the benefits of preparing for a marriage, not just a ceremony. Two types of premarital counseling are offered to each couple- (1) individual, (2) three-hour small-group session for 2-3 couples. More detailed information about the cost and schedule can be found on the website.
